Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
In nine-year-old Sunshine Durham’s case, playing a game with her friend resulted in a serious injury.
Her mother, Joy, took all her anxiety over the event (and ensuing operations) and channeled it into knitting scarves.
And that’s how Sunshine Scarves was born. The collection, made of wonderfully soft yarn (some imported from Germany, Italy, and Belgium), is knitted by hand and comes in a rainbow of color combinations with cute names like Birthday Party, Playdough, Razzle Dazzle, and Peas & Carrots. Available in short (for those up to 5’6”), long (for those over 5’7”), and custom, the line offers something suitable for every man, woman, and child. And, to make you feel just a little more warm and fuzzy, Sunshine Scarves donates 50 percent of proceeds to charities that provide prosthetics to kids in need.
So good things can happen to unlucky people.
