Blessed be the neighborhood restaurant. You know the place: Right around the corner, no reservation required, serving up a darn good latte in the morning, snacks in the afternoon, and that much-needed glass of wine in the evening.
In other words, your home away from home.
If you live in Russian Hill, you’re in luck. Nook, a new unpretentious spot on Hyde Street, is about to become your new favorite hang-out. Owned by Elias Bikahi and Nicola Tretau, the cozy cafe is done in creamy yellows and burgundy. Grab a spot on the bench or at one of the wooden tables and settle in.
The breakfast menu includes basics like oatmeal, granola, waffles, and eggs. Lunch consists of countless salads and sandwiches. Between meals, nosh on artichokes filled with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto; hummus and pita; or cheeses with fig spread. Desserts? Try organic fruit pies, cookies, and cakes.
Internet access and so many dishes to choose from make it easy to park here all day long. You’ll be on a first-name basis with the staff before you know it.
A second home, just like that.
No down payment required.
