Sister Act

Pizzeria Delfina

When you were a kid, your view on siblings was simple.

Thumbs down.

Of course, your hair-pulling big brother and eye shadow-stealing little sister didn’t give you much choice.

The newly opened Pizzeria Delfina may give you a new perspective. Located next door to big sis Delfina, it’s a perfect example of family harmony. Chef/owner Craig Stoll’s Neapolitan-inspired pies marry thin, blistered crusts with local ingredients.

Choose from eight pizzas, like the margherita with fresh-stretched mozzarella; broccoli rabe with Bellwether Farms ricotta; or house-made fennel sausage with peppers and onions. Daily specials, like eggplant parmigiana, are served in cast-iron skillets, and platters of antipasti line the oak countertops.

Twenty bottles of Italian wines, each less than $45, pair well with the casual setting: white tile floors, takeout boxes stacked in plain view, and counter seating. Finish with a cannoli or fruit baba au rhum.

And rejoice in a sibling worthy of your love.

Pizzeria Delfina, 3611 18th Street, between Dolores and Guerrero Streets (415-437-6800).
