Bull’s Eye

Generally speaking, bull horns don’t exactly conjure images of subdued femininity. They’re more reminiscent of burly masculine things like adornments for big ol’ Texas Cadillacs and the voice-amplifying device favored by drill sergeants.

Thanks to jewelry designer Erika Copenhaver, the cuerno de vaca (that’s “bull horn” to you gringos) is getting in touch with its feminine side.

Admiring the bracelets on the wrists of her stylish cousins during a visit to Managua, Copenhaver fell in love with the look. As an ode to the natural beauty of her mother’s native country, she’s created her own line of simple-yet-exotic baubles.

Alba Nikka, her collection, features two styles: smooth ebony bangles (two sizes and ideal for stacking) and sexy cache cuffs.

Hand-carved in Nicaragua, each piece is guaranteed not to provoke any copycat fights.

But if they do, you know what to do.

Take the bull by the horns.
