Cupcakes are like pizza: They don’t have to be great to be irresistible, but it sure is nice when they are.

Hello, Kara’s Cupcakes. New on the scene in the world of confections, they’re pretty little bites of heaven.

And just to add to the fun, you get to design your own. The sweet indulgences come in a plethora of flavors like buttermilk/vanilla, chocolate, apple, lemon, banana, carrot, and coconut. Fill ’em up with lemon or passion fruit curd or raspberry or hazelnut mousse. Then top them off with buttercream (vanilla, chocolate, coffee, lemon, raspberry, peanut butter, or hazelnut), ganache (chocolate or banana chocolate), or frosting (cream cheese or coconut). Each is adorned with either caramelized fruit or fondant cutouts, so they’re just as fun to look at as they are to eat.

And being the doll that she is, Kara uses only fresh, organic ingredients purchased from local farmers.

Which is a lot more than you can say for the guys at Extreme Pizza.
