Dylan Shoes Opens

Sometimes you wish you could fly the coop and spend a day in someone else’s shoes. Maybe one of those ladies who spends Wednesday afternoons at the spa and weekends at her wine country home.

Dylan Shoes, a tiny shop where you might just find ruby red slippers, may help you take flight when it opens its doors on Thursday.

Although the footwear is the real draw, the backdrop is as impressive: Jonathan Adler furniture mixed with Swallowtail accents, baroque pinstripe wallpaper, antlers with pearls draping down, and funky light fixtures set an impressive scene.

What’s to be had at Dylan? Stylish siren Stephanie Unger is at the helm (those Vintage 415 kids have got her back), and her selection is a stellar one: Chloé, Proenza Schouler, Loeffler Randall, Marc Jacobs Collection, Stella McCartney, Tara Subkoff for Easy Spirit, Keds — and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

So even if you can’t pad around your fancy country house, you can at least strut around town in style.
