Pie in the Sky

And now for one of life’s ultimate ponderables: pizza or tacos?

Never an easy decision. And Nick Fasanella isn’t making it any simpler.

Because he’s gone back to his old-world roots with Nicky’s Pizzeria Rustica, which just opened next door to his genius Nick’s Crispy Tacos.

Nicky’s will serve the pies his dear nonna might have served: granny-approved, with mostly organic ingredients and Italian San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce. Rustic pizzas like margarita (with homemade mozzarella), tre fungi (with porcini, portabella, and shiitake mushrooms), and pancetta (with caramelized onions) are displayed atop a powder-coated steel counter. Salads (caprese, Caesar) are made to order.

There are wines from Italy and California to go with — and you can have a slice and a glass of vino for just twelve bucks.

Leaving you with change to spare for other debates.

Where to go for dessert?
