Something Old, Something New

You do your part to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Plastic soda rings as bracelets, though? The earth may be thanking you, but the rest of us are begging for mercy.

Jewelry designer Ann Lawson has taken the art of salvage to a new level with her two collections, Good Coffee and Annmarie. A natural-born scrounger, Lawson haunted estate sales as a kid, honing her talent for creating one-of-a-kind jewelry from found objects. Pieces from the Good Coffee line are straight vintage while Annmarie gems show off Lawson’s vivid imagination.

Gold and silver chains dangling from industrial keys make Joan Jett-worthy earrings. A pair of 1940s Bakelite buckles becomes a striking necklace. And the demitasse souvenir spoons grandma used to collect turn into precious little rings.

Each design tells a story, so you can spend hours wondering what door the sterling key wrapped around your finger opened. It may just become a consuming passion.

Without any of the guilt of reckless consumption.
