Nisa is
a) A combination niece and sister.
b) the Arabic word for “woman.”
c) a guy of both Nigerian and South American descent.
d) a new boutique on 24th Street.
If you answered “b” and “d,” you’re a freakin’ genius (although “a” and “c” could be true, too, for all we know).
The local line with a boutique on 19th Street has just opened its second outpost in Noe Valley.
Inspired by their diverse backgrounds and a common love for vintage glamour, the four-person design team creates pieces that combine an urban sensibility with Eastern influences.
Low-waisted tunics in turquoise and green pair perfectly with knickers constructed of a slouchy cotton blend. Sleeveless hoodies in green and fuscia dress down cotton crepe wrap skirts in natural tones or slip over picnic-perfect dresses in bright solids. Each piece offers special detailing, like fabric panels or straps, wraparound sashes, and pockets in contrasting colors.
The shop also carries vintage handbags. And be on the lookout for men’s garb as well.
Sure to be a hit with Nigerian South Americans — and other guys — everywhere.
