High Yield

Yield Wine Bar

Okay, San Francisco needs another wine bar like you need another pair of $200 skinny jeans.

Meaning: There’s always room for one more.

And Yield Wine Bar, in the up-and-coming Dogpatch neighborhood, stands out from the crowd by pouring only biodynamic, organic, and sustainable wines. Co-owners Chris Tavelli and Celine Guillou reason if you’ll spend your whole paycheck to eat pesticide- and hormone-free food, why should you imbibe upward of 200 chemicals in your glass of syrah?

Perch atop a suede ottoman or recline in one of the leather lounge chairs arranged around reclaimed redwood beam tables. Then swirl and sip one of 50 “green” wines spanning Europe, the U.S., Argentina, and beyond, with tastes ranging from fruit-forward to earthy.

If you’re inclined to add solid foods to your liquid diet, nosh on the rosemary-toasted almonds, cheese plate, or fresh-made flatbreads.

Just be sure to wear your least skinny skinny jeans.

Yield Wine Bar, 2490 3rd Street, at 22nd Street (415-401-8984 or yieldsf.com).
