Sticks and stones may break your bones, but an unfortunate last name can be pretty painful.

Rest assured, however, that designer Deanna Bratt didn’t let hers keep her down. (Nor, for the record, did famous cousin Benjamin.) The SF local’s comfy cotton/Lycra tops and dresses are as carefree as can be.

The crew necks, long lines, and shirred seam detailing on the line’s Gather Me shirts update the standard tee, while the Candy Pocket tunics with scoop necks are super flattering. The teal Lady Sue dress makes for a great last-minute holiday party look, and short-sleeve mini sweaters keep bare shoulders warm.

And no matter how you wear the pieces — dolled up with killer accessories or layered together — they’re impossible to spoil.

Just be forewarned: They may inspire name calling of the positive kind.
