A warm globe isn’t so bad. (Especially on a white sand beach.) Global warming, on the other hand, is something we can all do without.

The gal-owned co-op pumps biodiesel made from recycled vegetable oil. Turns out the grease that pollutes your waistline (potato chips, doughnuts, fried chicken) helps the environment by reducing harmful emissions.

If you don’t have a diesel car, check out tdicars.com or look for one on craigslist.org. Contrary to popular misbelief, diesel engines don’t need a major conversion to run on biodiesel; you just have to make sure the engine’s filters stay in good shape. To that end, the filling center holds filter-changing workshops, as well as classes on opening a biofuel station of your own.
