A charming neighborhood shop is like a good romantic comedy: Everyone loves ’em.

Like Romi (Shopgirl meets Pretty Woman).

It goes like this: Girl stumbles upon new storefront in Pac Heights on lunch hour. The chemistry? Unmistakable. Girl looks at watch. Against better judgment, goes inside. The pale blue and chocolate space is filled — but not crammed — with racks of better-than-basics and snazzier-than-staples.

She runs her hands over soft Cris cashmere sweaters; asks for her size in fitted cargos from Joie. Tries them on with Splendid tops in different colors. While admiring the rearview in Paige denim, she sees the number 24 bus pass right by. She’s completely lost track of time!

Will the object of her affection get her fired? She thinks, then spots Volunteering Is Sexy tees. Proceeds support nonprofit San Francisco Connect. The perfect excuse!

The salesgirl starts to ring up her sale. Girl winks; throws a sexy Commando number onto the pile. And promises to be back next week.
