In Good Taste

Sometimes it’s like your stomach does all the talking and thinking. Your cat’s nickname is “lamb chop.” You call your beau “muffin.” And you refer to everyone else as “honey.”

Local stationer Laurie Coughlin suffers from a similar food-expression-obsession. Only she’s channeled it into perky food-themed note cards sure to butter up your loved ones.

Fill your pantry with sets of Jell-O molds, cupcakes, and ice cream sandwiches. The Neapolitan-hued flat card assortment (with cookie sandwich and its strawberry cousin) literally elicits hunger pangs. Give friends something to chew on with nifty Stick-o-Gum stationery that unfolds like a piece of Wrigley’s.

Most of the cards are blank, except for multifunctional poster cards which reveal a recipe (lemonade, seven-layer bar, rice crispy treat), a cute graphic evoking the act of cooking together, and space for a sweet nothing or two.

Now. If your peanut butter cup isn’t charmed, we’ll eat our words.
