True, having a baby changes everything.
But the switch is way harder when you’re living on the street, which is why local nonprofit Homeless Prenatal Program is committed to helping down-and-out parents and expectant mothers make changes in their lives.
They offer services like substance abuse counseling, job training, and housing assistance, as well as yoga sessions and eight-week prenatal classes culminating in a baby shower.
And they need your help. Donate new (or like new) mom and baby goods (clothes, diapers, household items) or provide monthly support to a specific family in need.
Because there’s nothing wrong with a little extra mothering.
Homeless Prenatal Program, 2500 18th Street, at Potrero Avenue (415-546-6756 or homelessprenatal.org).
