You’ve always wondered what the 3 Musketeers have to do with nougat and why Reese went to pieces over peanut butter.
You’ll never know, but Candybar is exactly what it claims to be: a new bite-size dessert and wine bar in the Western Addition opening softly tonight and to the public on Sunday.
Pastry chef Jake Godby’s (Fifth Floor, Coi) four-course tasting menu sends you to the Milky Way with organic, house-made options — chocolate brioche with balsamic caramel ice cream and spiced yogurt, perfect milk and cookies. Sate savory cravings with nibbles like roasted potatoes with hazelnut romesco.
The menu pairs with wines; microbrews; Blue Bottle coffee; or a boozy-sweet concoction of sherry, Carnegie Porter, and vanilla ice cream. Indie tunes, emerging artist displays, and board games make for serious playtime.
Go ahead and ask about the meaning of Baked Alaska.
No snickers here.
