Punch-Drunk Love

Pisco Latin Lounge Opens

The chances of you finding a Latin lover anywhere near the Castro? Slim to none.

Au contraire, Senorita. Wait till you meet the newly opened Pisco Latin Lounge on Market Street.

Inspired by the pre-Prohibition Latin brandy of the late 1800s, the sultry boite (and sister resto to neighbor Destino) is decked with a red wall, white marble floors, and a sleek floating pagoda island.

Sip on signature cocktails made with exotic rum, tequila, and other Latin spirits. If liquor’s not your thing, there’s a list of Peruvian brews and wines imported from Chile, Argentina, and Spain. Nibble on tapas like caipirinha grilled shrimp, queso fundido (grilled provolone), and peruanitos (Peruvian mini burgers).

A fine piece of Latin meat.

Pisco Latin Lounge, 1817 Market Street, at Octavia Street (415-874-9951 or piscosf.com).
