What with all the pre- and postgame analysis, rowdy fans, and final laps, it’s easy to mistake Election Day for a spectator sport.

But there’s a big difference: You can’t win if you sit on the sidelines.

Today’s the day to suit up and step up to the plate, voters. Figure out where your polling place is, show up late to that early-morning meeting, and exercise your freedom of choice.

If it’s your rookie season, all the more reason to get in the game. You never forget your first presidential election, and this one’s as historic as they come.

So put on your party hat, and vote today. No matter which team you play for.
