Setting: Oakland, DMV parking lot. Detectives Crockett and Tubbs arrive on the scene.
Sonny: Just got a tip from the chief. Cherry bombs. Vendor seven. Scope it out.
Rico: (Laughing) I think someone’s having a little fun with you.
Sonny: Whatd’ya mean?
Rico: It’s dark alright. As in, Vice Chocolates, handmade locally in Jack London. New chocolatier manufacturing edgy morsels like the M. Butterfly truffle — dark chocolate encasing white chocolate ganache infused with lemongrass, coconut milk, and Kaffir lime leaves. I’m digging the Salty Dog caramels with vanilla bean and fleur de sel. Want a bar?
Sonny: We can’t drink on duty.
Rico: Dude. White chocolate with caramelized cocoa nibs. Unless you’d prefer the Scarlet strawberry truffle?
Sonny: This is gonna be a red letter day.
Available Sundays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at Temescal Farmers Market, 5300 Claremont Avenue, at Cavour Street, Oakland (urbanvillageonline.com). For more information, go to vicechocolates.com.
