Amy Finehouse is addicted to junk. What she does not know is that she will soon face an intervention.
The last known incident happened in a salvage yard — specifically, Building Resources in Bayview.
She started jonesing the moment she hit the door. Vintage gates, window frames, reclaimed plywood — she was helpless against her craving. When she saw the sinks, toilets, and bidets she wanted more, more, more!
One touch of the secondhand vases and old sewing machines and she felt a rush in her veins.
High and oblivious to her actions, she signed up for every upcoming spring and summer workshop, from lamp-making to garden design. She scooped up handfuls of recycled tumbled glass made by the nonprofit Red Shovel Glass Company.
The addiction is threatening to take over her cute apartment, if not her life.
She’s way beyond rehab.
Building Resources, 701 Amador Street, at Cargo Way (415-285-7814 or buildingresources.org).
