Pillow Talk

If you realized your dreams, you’d go to work naked, sprout wings, and — inexplicably — make sweet love to the pimply dork at the hardware store.

Thankfully, the outcomes are considerably more desirable (for everyone) when Sôcôla chocolatier Wendy Lieu awakes.

Lieu dreams up flavors while sleeping (dark chocolate with lychee, toasted tamarind and black sesame), then works with her sis (and cofounder), Susan, to turn them into truffle reality.

Using ingredients like organic Straus cream, Hawaiian salts, and a sense of wit, the Lieu sisters make combos like Notorious H.O.G. (chocolate with bacon bits) and It’s Getting Hot in Hia (dark chocolate with Veuve Clicquot).

The decadent handmade treats should appeal as much to your palate as your sense of whimsy.

But there’s no accounting for taste.
