Our prescription: consult Danica Winters. The organic hair colorist (there are only a few) uses a 100 percent organic product to work her magic at Firehorse salon in the Lower Haight.

Years into her practice, Winters made the switch to Brit-born Organic Color Systems, which (unlike poser organic dyes that still have traces of chemicals) contains no ammonia, sulfates, or animal by-products. It restores moisture in cuticles while adding killer shine (seriously, our hair has never been this soft).

Winters splits her time between the Bay Area and Atlanta, where she runs The Plum Organic Salon & Spa, which may get a NorCal sibling.
