Howdy, lads and lassies.
Reckon y’all ain’t yet heard of the Wild West’s new joint, Wexler’s, opening today down yonder in the ol’ FiDi firehouse and servin’ up mighty good grub.
Owner Matt Wexler’s ode to good old American ’cue culls from North, South, East, and West — all smoked to perfection by chef Charlie Kleinman, a former Fifth Floor toque. Purty ladies can pony up to the bar under the “continuous smoke cloud” ceiling installation for five-minute mint juleps and all-American brews and wines.
Take a seat fer the pulled lamb sliders with biscuits, smoked short rib drizzled with BBQ au jus, and the mighty fine smoked lobster mixed with bacon and corn bread.
We’ll tip our hats to the inside-out root beer float.
Please pardon our Southern drool, er, drawl.
Wexler’s, 568 Sacramento Street, between Montgomery and Leidesdorff Streets (415-983-0102 or wexlerssf.com).
