Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

Horatius Bistro and Market Gallery Opens

For you, all things Latin roll off the tongue.

An exception? The language itself.

But you can still carpe diem when you get your masters in international flavors at the newly opened Horatius bistro and market gallery.

Inspired by the Dead Poets Society maxim, the Potrero Hill cafe and arbiter of artisanal foods is a one-stop shop for breakfast, lunch, and so much more. You’ll find imported goods like Portuguese quince, olive oils, cheeses, and French candy while perusing orchids, Peruvian dishware, and a wine bar.

Housed in a stunning, barn-like warehouse, there’s also a demo kitchen for cooking classes and outdoor seating where you can savor paninis, salads, and pastries while sipping espresso.

They’ll highlight different countries for culinary themes monthly.

Now you’re talking.

Horatius, 350 Kansas Street, between 16th and 17th Streets (415-252-3500 or horatius.com).
