But you’ll unlock the mysteries of angels and demons any day with Pamela Tuohy-Novinsky’s jewelry collection.

The designer (with the help of her artist husband) makes the enchanting baubles in her Sacramento home studio using fantasy and mourning to tell collective stories in each piece.

After selecting nostalgic imagery (animals, insects, the macabre) for her rings, cuffs, earrings, brooches, and necklaces, she then encases the art in a Victorian filigree frame. Some feature faceted glass, rosary fragments, and precious stones mixed with oxidized sterling and gold vermeil.

Limited-edition numbers ($64+) and one-of-a-kinds ($1,000+) are equally alluring, making it hard to tell the difference.

Like the line between fact and fiction.
