Read All About It

Open Books Nonprofit Literary Center

open books nonprofit literary center!

You claim you’re an avid reader.

But when you confused Sylvia Plath with a Real Housewives star at a dinner party, the truth became evident. (You’d make a great liebrarian.)

Here’s a novel idea: Open Books, a newly minted nonprofit-cum-bookstore in River North that serves a higher purpose. All proceeds from used book sales fund on-site adult, family, and computer literacy programs.

Donations are gladly accepted. So purge your dusty book collection and browse a treasure trove of reads in every genre priced at half (or more) off the going rate.

Open Books will also host author readings, open mic sessions, and indie film screenings.

Book it.

Open Books, 213 West Institute Place, at Franklin Street (312-475-1355 ext. 100 or open-books.org).
