You remember the old Girl Scouts ditty: Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other’s gold.
The grown-up interpretation: Treasure your trove of fourteen-karat jewelry, but go get thee some silver, stat.
Or rather, check out Elyria Sterling’s debut collection. Its troupe leader, SF-based designer and world traveler Elisa Browsh, was inspired by the culture clash of Hong Kong, where modern skyscrapers butt up against the ancient markets of Temple Street.
Browsh gives a modern twist to classic designs: Nubby, baroque Chinese freshwater pearls accent sleek lines, like the Wyndham Street conflict-free white sapphire ring stacked with a similarly chic pearl ring.
The collection, rounded out with delicate hoops and graphic pendant necklaces, is sophisticated, without looking like you’re rocking Mom’s pearls.
Scout’s honor.
