But Hula-hooping is our trendsetting first lady’s most fun fad yet.

Stefana Serafina’s personal training sessions get our vote. Her popular weekly Hoop the Flow classes combine hooping and dance to a soundtrack of hip-hop, world, Balkan, electronica, and Middle Eastern beats.

During personal sessions, you and a couple of friends will learn basic arm and shoulder techniques, then move on to core hooping. The cardio-intensive workouts engage the entire body, regardless of your skill level.

Serafina encourages all of her students to find their “inner dancer,” citing hooping’s benefits for stress relief and emotional healing.
