Heat-and-Eat Steel-Cut Oatmeal

Your mornings are pretty damn efficient, but none of your time-saving tricks are as delicious as heat-and-eat, steel-cut oatmeal from local company Slow Girl Foods.

Instead of taking 45 minutes to cook steel-cut oats (or eating a packet of the sugary, preservative-laden, instant crap), throw the container in the microwave for one minute (sans water), stir, and voila! You’ve got a nutritious, hot brekkie with quinoa (for protein), agave syrup (for natural sweetness), local dried fruit and nuts, and a dusting of cinnamon.

The containers are portable, so you can toss one in your bag and heat it up at work — where we imagine you’ll eat it while answering e-mails.
