Babs can keep her misty, watercolored memories. You like yours crystal clear and instantly accessible, especially the ones that star your kid. But who has time to upload and tag every photo?
Replace your camera’s memory stick with one of Mountainview-based Eye-Fi’s new DSLR cards, and the uploading is automatic — sans cable.
Here’s how it works: Arrive home with fresh images on your camera, turn it on, and go about your business (unpack the groceries, change a diaper, breathe). By the time you’re done, the pics will be transferred (thank you, Wi-Fi) to your home computer, your card cleared for new pics, and your camera powered down to await Sweet Pea’s next adorable moment.
Eye-Fi can also upload to photo- or video-sharing sites (Flickr, Picasa, Vimeo, YouTube., etc.). Plus, each image is tagged with geographic data and a time stamp. So all that’s left for you to remember is the actual memory.
Available at Best Buy, 1717 Harrison Street, between 13th and 14th Streets (415-626-9682); Target, 133 Serramonte Center, at Gellert Boulevard, Daly City (650-755-2393); online at eye.fi, $49-$150.
