Vintage That Feels Modern

Dina Louise Vintage Boutique in the Lower Haight

dina louise san francisco!

Your last vintage purchase was so over-the-top ’80s, your friends started calling you Lauper.

For previously owned pieces that aren’t quite so specific, head to Dina Louise in the Lower Haight.

Owner Dina Laquaglia, a former stylist and costumer, sticks to clothing and accessories from recent decades that transcend trend. Her ’80s pieces, for example, are more likely to be a Southwestern-inspired silk Jaeger blouse, a long wool Lanvin shift, or a classic (and very collectible) Katharine Hamnett light-wash denim jacket. Her eye for prints (vibrant patterned blouses and dresses like a to-die-for belted geometric number) will bring some much-needed pizazz to your T-shirt and jeans basics.

Years spent in New Mexico have inspired her succinct collection of beaded and turquoise jewelry, and Laquaglia has her sights set on her own clothing line for the store (for starters, she’s made one short-sleeved floral top). We can see reaching for her pieces time after time.
