To: You

Despite your dependence on me for daily transportation (and, let’s face it, status), you toss me aside in the hallway and leave me there to wither away until our next sojourn.

Show me a little respect, and spruce up your apartment, with a handmade bike shelf from local woodworker and furniture maker Chris Brigham of Knife & Saw. The ingenious, and sleekly attractive, pieces are made from solid walnut or ash and hook into the wall, making me something of an art statement. Store whatever you’d like — books, your helmet, flowers — on top.

Because Brigham is a one-man operation (who also makes custom furniture like platform beds and cribs), you may have to wait a few months for a finished one to arrive.

In the meantime, you know where to find me. (Sigh.)

Available online at theknifeandsaw.com, $275-$300.
