The hunt for sugar-free school valentines came up empty. So we asked the gals at Prudent Baby for their help. And tada! A valentine that will melt your heart.
For ten bags, you’ll need ten four-inch treat bags and 40 crayons. For the wrapping, you’ll need a pencil sharpener, iron, roll of wax paper, 40 glue dots, and five additional crayons.
Print sweet messages (“You color my world,” “You brighten my day”) on standard copy paper and cut into strips.
Have your little helper use the pencil sharpener to shave peeled crayons onto a sheet of wax paper, then place a message face-up on top.
Top the message with a second sheet of wax paper, and with a towel protecting your iron, melt the crayon between the sheets for five to ten seconds.
Cut it into a rectangle, fold in half, and attach over the folded top of your crayon-filled treat bag with a glue dot on each corner.
