Mim's the Word
Crimson Mim Shoe Store

The suburbs. Families. Potlucks. Jungle gyms. Fabulous shoes.
Huh?
That’s right. Tell all your baby-making friends you’re heading south for a visit, because there’s a new reason to make the trip (other than their adorable newborns). Christine Campbell has just opened Crimson Mim, a high-end shoe store, on Main Street in Los Altos.
The 800-square-foot boutique, decked out in browns and reds with zebra-skin rugs and vintage chandeliers, specializes in obscure, hard-to-find designers like Calleen Cordero (glam casual), Jean-Michel Cazabat (a former Charles Jourdan designer), Neely Mack (a Marin local), Luc Berjen (fantastic wedges), Gunmetal (for fancy occasions), and Mark and Steven (a collaboration between a designer and foot surgeon). Also on hand: handbags by Elisa Atheniense and Ferran, T-shirts by Saja and Christina Lehr, and jewelery by Susan Furstman, Julez Bryant, and Ginette.
It’s a little piece of heaven.
In the middle of good old suburbia.
Crimson Mim, 322 Main Street, between First and Second Streets, Los Altos (650-947-7463).
