Lotus Bleu Boutique Opens

Having something to show off after a big trip is half the fun of traveling. But, somehow, your I-went-all-the-way-to-[insert exotic location]-and-all-I-got-was-this-lousy-T-shirt collection isn’t cutting it.
For a lesson in the art of the souvenir, head to interior decorator Jeannie Fraise’s new home decor boutique in Hayes Valley.
Inside the tiny sliver of a shop, she displays the spoils of her extensive world travels. Rich, vivid textiles from France and Southeast Asia will have you rethinking your minimalist palette. Liven up a simple white couch with a pair of bold floral pillows from the fabulous French label Robert le Heros. Or pretty up the dinner table with delicate linen place mats from Vietnam.
The store does double duty as an art gallery with thought-provoking pieces from up-and-coming Asian artists lining the walls. For redecorators, Fraise also offers a range of interior design services aimed at improving what you’ve already got.
Though she won’t be able to do much with your cabinet full of location-themed shot glasses.
Lotus Bleu, 327 Hayes Street, between Franklin and Gough Streets (415-861-2700 or lotusbleudesign.com).
