School’s Out for Summer

Root Division Adult Art Classes

artsy!

Graduation was a high point. No more tedious exams. And no more all-nighters that didn’t involve a party.

But it also meant bidding adieu to electives. (You still reminisce about the “hands on” experience in Ceramics 101 with Professor O’Hotpants.)

Get your creative juices flowing by signing up for an adult class at Root Division, a nonprofit in the Mission that teaches art to underserved kids in elementary and middle school.

Programs are taught by local, emerging professional artists. This Old Sculpture will have you transforming everyday stuff into artwork. Turn crappy old clothes into new wearables in Reclaimed Textiles. Explore the merging of modern media and art in Video Art.

Tuition runs about $150 (which goes back into the organization), and classes take place in the evenings, so you don’t have to quit your day job you got with that college diploma.

Plus, 8 a.m. lectures were never your thing.
