Head Case

Oud Salon Opens

love the hair!

Stylists and palm readers have a lot in common. They can both see an evil curse on your head and remove it for a small fee.

At Oüd (rhymes with mood), a new Nob Hill salon, colorist Robert James and stylist Ali Salahshoor may not be psychic — but they do have a sixth sense for reconciling the past (your tired, old do) with the future (a brand new you).

Dark wood, steel furniture, and suede green love seats create a mellow, lounge-like vibe to prepare you for the transformation. Robert (who’s colored the likes of Gwen Stefani and Carmen Electra) gauges your skin tone, eye color, profession, and personal style to find the hue that’s right for you.

Ali, a long-time instructor at Vidal Sassoon, specializes in cutting curly locks. Scissor-phobes can relax: The duo loves playing with long, sexy hair. As an added bonus, the salon has 23 free parking spots in back.

All of which makes it easy to predict future visits.

Without the help of a crystal ball.

Oüd Salon, 930 Bush Street, between Jones and Taylor Streets (415-929-7683 or oudhair.com).
