Gift of Gab
Home Spa Parties

Using your inside voice has never been your thing. Ballet teachers, librarians, yoga classmates — they’re not exactly fans.
Aesthetician Ellen Olson knows the feeling. After getting icy stares for being too vocal during a spa visit, she launched Spa Dee Dah, an at-home spa party service where cocktail banter overrules Zen silence, with longtime friend and massage therapist Andrea Turner.
The Oakland-based duo can transform any space (so long as it’s eight by ten) into a private treatment room for facials and massages. They use organic, ecofriendly products (by Rhonda Allison, Pharmacopia, and Astara) and cater all kinds of events. Treat b-day princesses to the Tiara Day facial and 30-minute hot stone massage. Bundle of Joy, a treatment for new mommies, rehabilitates neglected skin and tired eyes. Anyone will dig the Hot Pumpkin Pie facial with a Swedish/deep-tissue massage.
Need more? Just ask, and Olson and Turner will dip into their Rolodex and line up caterers, DJs, bartenders, and even a burlesque instructor for an all-out bachelorette.
Your pal Hee Haw Sally will get the message that you love her. Loud and clear.
