Six in the City Screenwriting Contest

Waiting for Hollywood to call is a lot like being on hold with the phone company. Life just passes you by.
Grab hold of it instead by entering your screenplay into San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking’s Six in the City screenwriting contest. All genres are welcome (romcom, sci-fi, dramedy), as long as the story features six characters in six San Francisco locations. Indie, character-driven scripts with a focus on dialogue (Singles in SF, anyone?) are particularly appealing.
The grand prize-winning screenplay will be produced as a feature film, courtesy of Third Street Pictures. First prize is a $3,500, five-week filmmaking workshop; second prize is a free sound stage rental (including lights and camera equipment) valued at $1,500. The submission deadline is January 1. (And February 15 with a late fee for all you tortured writer feet-draggers.)
But unlike the phone company, they just may give you a callback.
