On Your Toes
Tashkent Shoes for Fall

You’re a sucker for luxury. But wearing diamonds on the soles of your shoes is just a tad, well, frivolous. (Besides, it can’t be very comfy).
The alternative? Tashkent shoes, mini works of art you can actually walk in.
For her fall collection, which is just hitting stores (and will no doubt sell like hotcakes), Brooklyn-based designer Cheyenne Morris paired Italian leathers and exotic skins with lamb fur linings. Feet look chic; toes stay toasty.
Sculpture-like Cole booties come in blue, black, or maroon suede and have a pretty tie that makes your ankles look like gifts. Leather flats with metal toes are sweet yet tough. Pony hair flats get an update with a smart weave design. Barbarella would have loved the wedges with gold mesh detail.
And the tall flat boots with wool sweater legs are made for walking — on air, in style, with elegance.
And that’s just what you’ll do.
Available at The Grocery Store, 3625 Sacramento Street, between Spruce and Locust Streets (415-928-3615). Meet the designer today, noon-5 p.m. To see styles, go to tashkentnyc.com.
