Cream of the Crop

Carrots Boutique Readies to Open

carrots!

Ehh, what’s up, doc?

Carrots: Melissa and Catie Grimm’s gorgeous new 4,000-square-foot boutique opening Monday in Jackson Square.

The name pays homage to the sisters’ family biz: Grimmway Farms is the world’s largest producer of rabbit crack.

The elegant interior mixes rich antiques (oh, those chandeliers …) with modern walnut and steel displays. Brick walls and cement flooring add an industrial edge, while comfy seating and sparkling beverages offer weary shoppers west and wewaxation.

A sharply edited crop of goods from top American and European designers (Thakoon, Peter Som, Narciso) dangles from the racks. Denim lines (ProportionofBlu, Goldsign) and ready-to-wear fill out the space. Stock up on chic accessories like French scarves by Anou Thammavong and Jennifer Alfano bags. Hourglass candles and Vanini glass vases make excellent hostess gifts.

And the signature carrot cupcakes? You’ll go Looney Tunes for ’em.

That’s all folks.

Carrots, 843 Montgomery Street, between Jackson Street and Pacific Avenue (415-834-9040 or sfcarrots.com).
