A Good Run
Donate Leftovers Through Food Runners

You cooked two turkeys, ten pies, and stuffing for a cast of thousands. Right about now you’re wishing Uncle Larry had gone up for eighths and ninths instead of his usual sixths and sevenths.
To find out where to take your personally prepared leftovers, call Food Runners, a local program dedicated to feeding the hungry and eliminating waste. They’ll refer you to the nearest shelters in your neighborhood and let you know beforehand whether they will accept your donations.
If you want to do more than just share extra food, the two days before and after holidays are when they need the most help (get on board now for Christmas). Volunteer to make regular deliveries from donors to recipients. Share the gig with a group of friends. Or, at the very least, break open the checkbook.
Either way, you’ll have plenty of good karma left over for the entire year.
