Move Uva

Uva Enoteca Opens

heard it through the grapevine!

Another day, another wine bar.

Cav and Nua, make room for new kid on the block: Uva. The new enoteca, named after the Italian word for grape, resides in the Lower Haight.

Saddle up to the marble bar and order a glass of lambrusco, just one of the many small production Italian wines on the extensive list. Or opt for a table in the exposed brick dining room and enjoy the rustic Italian fare.

Carb-phobes will delight in the charcuterie and cheese plate with homemade mostarda, truffled honey, and white pear compote. Bread eaters can feast on mortadella and cherry mostarda panini and a crustless sandwich of shrimp, avocado, and pancetta.

When you’re all done, be sure to cleanse the palate with pistachio gelato.

Because, well, tomorrow’s another day.

Uva Enoteca, 568 Haight Street, between Fillmore and Steiner Streets (415-829-2024 or uvaenoteca.com).
