With the etiquette lessons, dinner parties, and newly acquired craft obsession, you’re a modern-day June Cleaver.
Dress the part with eye-popping, vintage-inspired pieces from Rene Ropas.
After attending classes at the International Academy of Design & Technology, fledgling designer Morgan Carson struck out on her own to launch the women’s wear collection, her cheeky homage to 1950s housewives.
The made-to-measure, seventeen-piece fall collection comprises classic silhouettes and bold hues: A prim houndstooth jacket gets an unexpected twist thanks to a cropped cut; yellow and black plaid transforms a magenta trench from wardrobe staple to statement-maker; and an exposed rear zipper gives pleated cigarette pants a dose of sass.
Shop her website or simply peruse styles before visiting the designer’s eclectic Belltown showroom-slash-boutique to get fitted and “play dress-up,” as Carson calls it.
What a doll.
Available at Ropas, 2604 Western Avenue (206-552-1275 or reneropas.com), $200-$1,500. Call for an appointment.
