An Evening with the Stars

What: Hotel 1000’s swanky red carpet event in celebration of the Academy Awards.

Seattle’s first pizza cart serves freshly baked artisan slices and six- to ten-inch pies.
Why: Top-notch ingredients like locally foraged mushrooms, goat cheese, and cured meats from Salumi.

Washington Beer Open House

What: More than 40 local breweries open their doors to the public for a day of barrel tastings, food pairings, tours, and other almost-anything-goes activities.
Why: Hilliard’s Beer, Pike Brewery, Maritime Pacific, Snipes Mountain Brewery, and others.
When: Sat., noon-5 p.m.

Wintergrass Music Festival

What: One of the biggest (and some say best) bluegrass festivals in the country brings more than 200 musicians together for a giant jam session.
Why: Claire Lynch, Tim O’Brien, and The Deadly Gentlemen.
When: Thurs.-Sun.

Michael Florentino Cellars

What: The boutique winery unveils its new Warehouse District tasting room.
Why: Cab what? Taste the winery’s rosé, monastrell, malbec, petit verdot, and counoise.
