A Sasquatch Playlist from Three Imaginary Girls

Gorge-ous tunes to get you there

sasquatch festival!

There’s no shortage of indie music in this city, but this weekend you can indulge at The Gorge. Prep your eardrums with Sasquatch artists recommended by Victoria VanBruinisse of indie pop press powerhouse Three Imaginary Girls (and subsequently marvel at her awesome taste in tracks).

Hate Me Soon,” by Yellow Ostrich
(A track that encompasses the band’s sound and skill set.)

Little Talks,” by Of Monsters and Men
(Recently featured on Grey’s Anatomy, if you can believe it.)

Hacienda Motel,” by Pickwick
(Infectious, funky, danceable, and fun — with an occasional haunted undertone.)

Hold On,” by Alabama Shakes
(This band had everyone hooked after SXSW.)

Do You Have Time,” by Thee Satisfaction
(Recently signed to Sub Pop, but this is one of my favorite tracks from their 2010 EP, Transitions.)

True Love Will Find You in the End,” by Hey Marseilles
(The septet of compositional geniuses released this Daniel Johnston cover in February.)

Chapel Song,” by We Are Augustines
(One hundred and ten percent do not miss.)

Itchin’ on a Photograph,” by Grouplove
(This track has made it onto every mix I’ve made in the past few months.)

Cage,” by Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside
(One listen and you’ll be hooked.)

Working Titles,” by Damien Jurado
(Standout from his most recent release, Maraqopa.)

White Waves,” by Shearwater
(Incredible, dynamic, multifaceted, must-have to round out your music collection.)

Dancing on Our Graves,” by Cave Singers
(One of my longstanding favorites.)
