What:
The Madison Valley neighborhood celebrates all things French — food, wine, spirits, burlesque dancers and live music, mimes, street actors, and more.
Why: Visit the Spirit Garden in Rover’s courtyard and learn from chef demos in a setting reminiscent of a bucolic village in Provence.
When: Sat., 3-8 p.m.

Outdoor Theater Festival

See fifteen performances over two days by eight local companies — from Shakespeare’s King Lear to The Totally True and Almost Accurate Adventures of Pinocchio.
Why: Pack a picnic (don’t forget the wine and cheese), pick a spot on the lawn, and sit back and enjoy.

Ballard SeafoodFest
What:
The much-loved Seattle tradition honors Ballard’s heritage (translation: lots of people in Viking hats) and community with music, local brews, arts and crafts, and plenty of ocean fare.
Why: Don’t miss the Salmon Barbeque, where the fish is sizzled over an alder fire.
When: Sat., 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Downtown Ballard, 22nd St., at Market St. (206-784-9705).

DRINK
Wine Rocks Seattle
What:
The annual gathering of local winemakers, craft brewers, and distilleries lets you dance, drink, and eat against the backdrop of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains.
Why: Some of the best food trucks in the city, including Jemil’s Big Easy, will be on hand to soak up all the booze in your system. Try Monte Cristo Mobile Melts for the gooiest grilled cheese you’ll ever taste.
When: Thurs., 6-10 p.m.

LISTEN
Sub Pop’s Silver Jubilee
What:
The independent local record label that launched Nirvana toasts its 25th anniversary with a day of free music and entertainment in the Georgetown neighborhood.
Why: Listen to Mudhoney rock, hang out in the beer garden, and shop for rare vinyl at the record fair.
When: Sat., 9 a.m.-11 p.m.
Where: Georgetown, along Airport Way.

Drifting Arrows
What:
The local swimwear company hosts a trunk show at Madewell just in time for rising temps.
Why: One-pieces with striking necklines, bandeaus, and retro high-waisted bottoms.
