: The Ballard bistro and bar has quirky decor (menus from across the globe serve as wallpaper; pennies fill in for floor tiles), a friendly neighborhood vibe, and inventive small plates.
Why: Cold smoked potato salad, chilled Dungeness crab trifle, and broiled pork shoulder pair well with cocktails such as the Ballardvardier (bourbon, sweet vermouth, and Ramazzotti) and the Fog Storm (cachaca, Cherry Heering, and Rachel’s Ginger Beer).

Grupo Corpo
