Fawn Over This

Flora and Fawn Jewelry

Cyber-punk art installations. Your chem prof’s stabs at fashion. Your boho girlfriend’s ill-fated attempts to date Microsoft guys.

The marriage of science and art isn’t always pretty.

Unless you’re talking about Seattle-based Flora and Fawn jewelry, a charming exception to the rule.

Handmade by research scientist-turned-jeweler Angela Muhlnickel, the earrings and necklaces combine bright, childlike colors with graphic, grown-up shapes. Not for the shrinking violet, styles like Deluxe Winter (a chunky patined chain of multi-colored circles) and Double Swallow (two birds dangling from your neck) are part adornment, part conversation piece.

Look for more botany- and bird-inspired silver pieces when the new spring collection comes in. In the meantime, she’ll graciously customize any style to your color specifications.

Because you and pretty jewelry?

That’s a match made in heaven.
