Tiny Dancer

Tracy Anderson’s “Dance Aerobics” DVD

A good dance party is hard to find.

And doing the running man in your living room after work doesn’t count as a party. Or good.

Unless, of course, you’re busting the moves of Tracy Anderson’s new Dance Aerobics DVD. And then it even counts as exercise.

Anderson, an L.A.-based trainer and ex-dancer, has souped up classical dance conditioning with modern cardio, all in the name of creating long, lean muscles.

At first glance, it’s pure fun, but be sure to review the instructional segment. She doesn’t make a peep during the 45-minute session, so going over the step-by-step directions first will get you on track.

And don’t get your leg warmers in a bunch: You’ll catch on quick and learn to like the no-talking thing when you mute the sound and play high-energy jams of your choice. (See, there really is a time and place for that Christina Aguilera club remix.)

Sometimes you just have to aerobicize to the beat of your own drummer.
